You have a unique career design with specific gifts, talents and attributes to share. If you were able to look at the career designs of the entire planet, you would see there is no one exactly like you, and contrary to what you have been taught, you are meant to be different from everyone else.
Endless possibilities for individual expression exist when you utilise a clear strategy that aligns to your unique life’s work and purpose.
The four different Career Types are:
BUILDERS (Generators in Human Design) The 'Builders' are the life-force of the planet representing approx. 70% of the population. They are further categorised as Classic Builders (approx. 37%) or Express Builders (approx. 33%).
Builders are designed to work, and to love the work they do, completely exhausting their measure of creative energy every day. When they are in the right job they have an internal resource that regenerates, and doesn’t give up until they have accomplished what they committed to. This is what brings deep satisfaction with work and a restful, regenerating night’s sleep.
Their Strategy is to engage with life by waiting for things to come to them so that they can respond. Through responding they experience satisfaction in their life and work. When they initiate rather than wait to respond, they usually end up feeling frustrated.
Their work is their gift to the world.
INNOVATORS (Manifestors in Human Design) The 'Initiators' of the world comprise about 9 percent of the population.
They are designed to initiate and bring inspiration into the world. Their job is to get the ball rolling, and they love to think outside the box. They are self-contained and independent and when inspired by the right idea their presence has an impact on people. Innovators are designed to have a powerful impact and be initiating mechanisms for the other Career Types.
Their Strategy is to inform others of their decisions before they take action in order to eliminate resistance. When Innovators can’t manifest in peace, they experience anger.
Initiating is their gift to the world.
ADVISORS (Projectors in Human Design) The 'Guides and Advisors' are approximately 20 percent of the population.
They have a remarkable ability to see the big picture, and an inherent talent for guiding others to the most efficient and productive ways to use their energy resources. They are a natural administrator, coach, consultant, and teacher. They also make the ideal leader, using their talents to organise, streamline and manage group activity.
Their Strategy for engaging with life is to wait for their specific qualities to be recognised and invited into things. It is through an invitation they experience recognition and success in their lives. If they initiate rather than wait, they experience resistance and rejection and can end up becoming bitter.
The Advisor's gift is to understand and be a guide for others.
EVALUATORS (Reflectors in Human Design) Society’s 'Discerners' represent approximately 1 percent of the population.
They are an indispensable and objective evaluator and assessor of the world. They excel at monitoring and evaluating the ‘condition’ of a business, organisation or community, because they observe what is unique and different. Evaluators delight in life’s surprises.
Their Strategy is to wait through a full cycle of the Moon before making major decisions. When they initiate and don’t use their Strategy, they end up disappointed with life.
Evaluators are designed to be the judges of humanity, to reflect back the injustices humanity inflicts on itself.
Their ability to clearly discern the challenges of the world from a highly unique perspective is their gift.
Why learn about your own Career Type?
It gives you permission to be you – we are all uniquely different and play different roles.
We are not meant to see things the same way, process information the same way or work the same way. This modality can guide you in the correct way for you to move through your life.
What is also interesting is that compassion and acceptance of others also become easier. How? Well, as you begin to appreciate your individuality, you are more able to appreciate other’s individuality….and this leads to less stress and greater levels of happiness in every area of life.
Regular tools you may be familiar with (DISC, Myers-Briggs, the Birkman Personality Profiling tools) can’t grasp the totality of who you are – they can only point out the conscious or personality pieces and the extent to which you are living that healthily or not. BG5 considers not only your conscious characteristics but your unconscious characteristics as well.
